Turning takes that image as its title and its premise, written for the violin instructor who witnessed the climb.

Then: Peter Van Zandt Lane built Coastal Portrait: Cycles and Thresholds from real environmental data–measurements of temperature, salinity, and sea level gathered along the Georgia coast, translated into electronic sound. The orchestra answers as a kind of human interpreter, tracing the natural cycles of the wetlands and the moments where they cross into unrecoverable change.

Plus music by Jorge Sosa, Carlos Simon, Marc Mellits, Catherine Winters Boyack, Gabriel Jackson, Adam Silverman, Liliya Ugay, David Bird, Dika Chartoff, and Robert Laidlow.
